Account security

Set or change your Muchat account password using a verification code and a new password.

In the Muchat dashboard, open Settings → Account → Security, or go directly to account security. The Password card lets you set or change the password used to sign in to your account.

This flow verifies you using a code sent to one of your account's contact methods. You need access to the number or email shown as the destination. Review your contact details and verification status in General account settings.

Set or change your password

Request a verification code

In the Password card, select Create account password. The verification page opens after the code is sent. Its message shows whether delivery was by SMS or email, along with the destination.

Enter the code

Follow the page for the required number of digits. Verification starts automatically when the code is complete. Once verified, the Set a new password form opens.

Enter your new password

Enter the new value in Password and repeat it in Confirm Password. The indicators below the field show which password requirements are satisfied.

Save the password

Once both fields are complete and valid, select Save. A success message appears and you return to account security.

Password requirements

Use Latin letters and digits without spaces. Standard English punctuation is also accepted. Your password must:

  • Contain 8–128 characters.
  • Include at least one uppercase Latin letter, such as A.
  • Include at least one lowercase Latin letter, such as a.
  • Include at least one digit.
  • Match exactly in both fields.

The password changes after the final form is saved successfully. Receiving or verifying the code alone does not change your account password.

Requesting another code

If the code has not arrived, wait for the countdown to end and select Resend. Check the updated delivery method and destination on the page, then enter the code for the new request.

After verifying the code, complete the new password form in the same flow. If you reload the page or the request is no longer valid, return to account security and select Create account password again.
